The incident last friday is nothing new, we are all adults and should know better to keep our safety equipment on - [glow=red,2,300]particularly the goggles[/glow] - at all times at the game site. Chairman Ramses has always been reminding everyone about safety for as long as I can remember. If you are bringing guests their safety is [glow=red,2,300]your responsibilty[/glow]. [glow=red,2,300]SAFETY FIRST.[/glow]
PEACE - Bravo Delta

Tama si Big Daddy... - Please be reminded that you are responsible for your guests as far as safety and orientation is concerned - Please make it a point that you wear your SAFETY GOGGLES AT ALL TIMES, whether in the COLD or HOT ZONE, as long as you are in the game site.

As basic reaction to the near-miss incident, UFAC has decided that: 1. There will now be 3 zones: ------ Cold Zone: No AEG allowed here ------ AEG Zone: This is where AEGs will be deposited before entering the cold zone. This is the area near the shooting range ------ Hot Zone: Self-explanatory 2. A member per team is expected to be present at all times in the AEG Zone to arrange and release the AEGs to the team
----------------------- My opinion on this:
It is quite understandable that the reason for this is that this new ruling is intended only for the safety of the players, guests, and family members who are in the Cold zone.
However, I think that for us to leave 1 member in the AEG area while the rest are in the Cold Zone would in itself cause some problems: a. loss of opportunity to socialize b. feeling of being left out by the team ("why am i left here, while everyone else is inside?") which might result in bickering, c. a lot of players might instead stay in the AEG area bec they wouldn't like to leave their gears (the AEG + upgrades + accessories WILL cost above 1K per AEG) d. the tons of AEG in one area (with just a few people watching over it) might be too much of a temptation for some (a simple accessory such as an EOTech replica can sell for as much as 350++) e. Accidental loss of accessories of the AEG might be mistaken as somebody else nicking it (and we know that mags, scopes, flashlights, lasers CAN fall off during gameplay without you realizing it until later)
I think there might be other means to ensure safety without having to isolate the AEGs from the cold zone: - Strictly enforce the MAGS, SAFETY, DRY FIRE rule - Require safety goggles in the Cold Zone for EVERYONE - Implement an ID system (BlackCard) to identify regular players and let regular players take responsibility for their guests. - Lonewolves (players with no teams) are not allowed to play until they have found a "sponsor" team who will ensure that they get the proper orientation - Newbies are required as well to find a "sponsor" team who will ensure that they get the proper orientation - REQUIRE the gun muzzle (orange cap) AT ALL TIME in the Cold Zone - Absolutely NO FIRING of the AEG in the COLD ZONE (like what some players do, when they realize they still have their mags in their AEG) - Impose strict penalties to violators of the above rules - Have banners that explicitly state these rules
I believe the above rules should be more than sufficient to ensure the safety of the Cold Zone. In fact, the current rules should be sufficient enough (no mags, dry fire before entering cold zone, safety on, no firing in cold zone), only if they are followed strictly.

Here ! here! We in the first place should never consider our AEGs as toys. Never take for granted SAFETY and in our team, we should strictly follow safety rules so the we can be examples to the community.
